Things people built with AI in an hour.
No builds here yet. Be the first.
AI Hour is free. There’s nothing to pay and no AI Hour account to set up, and the free versions of the AI apps are enough. Here’s how to run it with your class: students build something with AI, then show it and vote. No coding needed.
| Under 13 | An adult uses the AI app. Build together on the big screen, or put a parent helper with each group. |
|---|---|
| 13 to 17 | ChatGPT, with a parent’s permission. Send a note home first. |
| 18 and over | Any app, including Claude. |
| Any age | Gemini, if your school’s Google accounts include it. |
Claude is 18+, so students under 18 can’t have their own accounts. Rules vary by country and change over time, so check ChatGPT and Claude.
Make a simple quiz game about volcanoes with big buttons. I want to play it right here.
Add a score. Now make the questions harder.
Allow 90 minutes: 60 to build, 5 to send links and up to 25 to show and vote. Short on time? Open Host controls and press Show and tell now when you’re ready.
Students don’t need an AI Hour account. Names, links and screenshots are deleted 30 days after the session, unless a student ticks the box to send their build to the public Builds page, so tell your class whether to tick it. .

Theme ideas come from AI, guided to suit classrooms, families and teams. Every theme, including ones hosts write, is checked for rude words, adult topics, links and contact details, then by an AI moderator. Anything that fails is blocked.
Player names get the same checks, including lookalike letters and rude emoji. Links, emails and phone numbers aren’t allowed.
Background pictures are made by AI, then checked by a second AI for anything unsuitable. If a picture can’t be confirmed safe, the screen uses a plain background.
Builds are made with ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps, and open on those apps’ own sites under their rules. Only share links from those apps are accepted. AI Hour takes one screenshot of each link to show as a thumbnail, using Cloudflare’s browser service. The host can hide any build from the screen, and its screenshot goes with it.
Builds only go on the public Builds page if the builder chooses, and only after Hackagong has checked the build and its screenshot. Anyone can report a build, which hides it until it’s checked again. Builders can remove their own build from the device that added it.
Under 18? Build with a parent, on their account. Running it with a class? See the Teachers guide. The AI apps set their own age rules.
AI Hour keeps the names and links people send in, a screenshot of each link, and a random ID for each device so it can vote once. No accounts and no emails. Internet addresses are only used to stop spam. Names, links, screenshots and device IDs are deleted 30 days after a session ends, except builds added to the Builds page, which stay until they’re removed. An anonymous record stays: the date, the theme and how many builds there were.
Email info@hackagong.com to report something, or to ask for anything to be removed sooner.
